NIO’s newest and best sedan, introduced on Saturday, is very noteworthy for the best way it is built-in its superior sensor package deal into its bodywork. Like different automobiles that use lidar, it has protruding sensors, however within the ET7’s case, they have been cleanly built-in into the physique. Ditto the 11 cameras and different sensors that make up the general sensor package deal for NIO’s self-driving automotive platform.

After all, having all of the sensors mandatory for autonomous car operation and truly with the ability to function autonomously are two various things. Nonetheless, a little bit of future-proofing is all the time good, proper? That vary comes courtesy of an obtainable 150-kilowatt-hour battery pack, a slippery physique form and a fairly environment friendly pair of motors, which provide a mixed output of 644 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque.
